Standard class
This is our standard mixed age music class. Our parents, grandparents and caregivers have a real chance to shine in this class while they bond with their children. The part-singing and improvisation in these classes are simply magical. Watch the big kids (3 and 4 year-olds) take on a leadership role as they model music-making for the little ones. See the babies and toddlers enthralled by watching the big kids. Bring the whole family and watch as everyone has a blast as our musicianship matures.
30 min Kiddie Korner walkers under 2
Prior Music Together® experience required.
During the school year, you can join the Kiddie Korner walkers and help us make this a mixed age class! Research shows that mixed-age classes provide the most effective learning environment. While all the adults in the room model the music-making for everyone to see, younger children (0-1) watch the older children as well, and the older children (ages 2-5) enjoy modeling for the younger ones. Ideally whole families come together to help create an organic, natural music-making community. In the summer, this time slot is available for traditional family classes (see description above.)
30 min Kiddie Korner 2's
Prior Music Together experience required.
During the school year, you can join the preschool two-year-olds to help make this a mixed age class. With a year of Music Together already under their belts, our 2's are already visibly processing the music. See them respond both rhythmically and tonally- and add your 0-2 year-old or your 2-5 year-old to make our learning environment socially and academicaly rich. So cute, so much fun. In the summer, this time slot is available for traditional family classes (see description above.)
30 min Kiddie Korner 3's class
The kids who turned 3 in September are in this preschool class with their 2 teachers. Younger siblings of these children are joined by Music Together families who have experienced at least one (preferably more than one) traditional mixed age family class. These "Big Kids" inspire awe in infants and toddlers. Adults learn to appreciate how an older child relates to the musical curriculum. Classes are 30 minutes and have a reduced fee.
30 min Kiddie Korner Pre-K class
The kids who turned 4 in September are in this preschool class with their 2 teachers. Younger siblings are encouraged to join as well as veteran Music Together families with a minimum of 1-2 semesters experience in a traditional mixed age class. These "Big Kids" inspire awe in infants and toddlers. Adults enjoy seeing what an older child can do with our curriculum. The classes meet for 30 minutes and are available at a reduced fee
Pajama Class
This class meets 6:45-7:30pm on Thursdays. You can bring the whole family- big siblings, both parents, other relatives... Go ahead and bring the kids fed and in pajamas so you can tuck them into bed when you get home. The adults in this class are almost exclusively parents.
